Why We Exist

The Kansas City Reparations Coalition (KCRC) was formed in 2020 to educate the community about reparations — what they are, why they are owed to Black/African American people, and how local initiatives can repair generations of harm.

Our mission is to raise awareness, organize community advocacy, and support the creation and implementation of local reparations proposals in collaboration with the Mayor's Commission on Reparations.
